Do you accept total beginners?
Yes, we
teach all levels from total beginners to near
professional musicians. Our students range from
children as young as five all the way to senior
citizens. Complete beginners are welcome, the
minimum age requirement is four years old.
Q. How often
will I come to lessons?
Most students
come once a week, for a 45 minute private lesson.
For most students, one 45 minute lesson per week
is adequate if the student arrives at his or her
lesson on time and prepared.
Q. What days
/ times can I schedule lessons?
Most lessons
occur between the hours of 3:30 pm and 8:00 pm
Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. – 2:00
p.m.Saturday.
Q. How much
do the lessons cost?
The lesson
fee is $100.00 per month. The fee is based one
45 minute group lesson, taken once a week. The
fee is payable in advance at the first lesson
of each month. If your lesson falls in the middle
of the month, I will prorate the fee for the first
month only the lessons you actually receive. Students
do not have to wait until the beginning of a new
month to start taking lessons. The monthly fee
rate does not increase on months with 5 weeks.
You will always get at least 4 lessons per month.
Once every three months, you will receive five
lessons. That additional lesson is already included
in our monthly flat rate of $100.00.
Q. Will I need
a book?
I can
recommend retailers in our area that stock method
books. Method books (if needed) are not included
in the monthly tuition. I may buy the book for
you and then have you reimburse me for the book.
Q. What is
your cancellation policy?
Students
may cancel a lesson by calling his or her teacher
with a minimum requirement of 24 hours notice.
A student who cancels with at least 24 hours notice
is eligible to receive a make – up lesson
in lieu of the missed lesson. “No Shows”
and lessons cancelled at the last minute (less
than 24 hours notice) are forfeited. NO
EXCEPTIONS PLEASE. Please limit
cancellations to a maximum of one per month. If
you miss several consecutive lessons due to a
summer vacation etc.; let your teacher know and
we can try to make arrangements to work around
your schedule. Cancelled lessons may NOT be “credited”
to the next month in order to reduce the month
lesson fee for a subsequent month. Tuition will
be adjusted for lessons cancelled by the teacher
if a make up lesson cannot be scheduled.
Tuition
Policy
The monthly
lesson fee is due at the first lesson
of each month. If you forget to bring
your payment on the due date, please get an envelope
from the teacher to mail your payment or bring
it by in person later. We allow 5 business days
beyond the due date to receive your payment. If
your payment is not received (by mail or in person)
in 5 business days, we may assume you have decided
to discontinue lessons and will make your time
slot available to new incoming students. If your
teacher owes you a make up lesson from the prior
month, please continue to make your monthly payment
at the first lesson of the month rather than waiting
until the second week of the month.
